Drehstrommotoren werden mit Dreiphasenwechselstrom \u201cDrehstrom\u201d angetrieben. In einer Wicklung mit mehreren Spulen (\u201cStator\u201d) wird ein sich drehendes Magnetfeld gebildet, das den Kurzschlussl\u00e4ufer (\u201cRotor\u201d) im inneren der Wicklung dreht. Die synchrone Drehzahl h\u00e4ngt von der Polpaarzahl und der Frequenz des Wechselstroms ab.
